Minister visits Nawalapitiya, sees damages in Inguru-Oya
Highways, Transport and Mass Media Minister of Dr.Bandula Gunawardena visited several areas in Hatton yesterday to look into the problems of the people who were affected by the floods in the.
He inspected the Nawalapitiya-Inguruoya bridge which collapsed due to the recent heavy rains that fell in the western parts of the Central Mountains.
Following the invitation of former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Gunawardena visited the area and inquired about the lack of access to the Inguru Oya area due to the collapse of the Nawalapitiya-Inguru Oya Bridge.
Speaking to the media during the visit, Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that Nawalapitiya Constituency was the most affected by the floods and many lives were lost due to the floods and many houses of the people living there were destroyed by the floods.
The minister said that he will consult President Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding this issue and take measures to solve the problems of the affected people by considering it as a special need.
